Do I receive the personalized gift certificate straight away?
Yes – you will receive your personalized gift certificates by email, within 30 minutes of placing your order.
What's included in the boating license gift certificate?
The boating license gift certificate includes the online boating license course, exam, temporary boating license (PCOC), and the permanent Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC). The PCOC will be mailed free of charge. There are no additional fees or renewals required. The PCOC never expires and is valid nationwide.
How can the gift certificate be redeemed?
Redeeming the gift certificate is easy. Each gift certificate includes a unique prepaid code. Simply enter the prepaid code at checkout, at the end of Chapter 1 of the course.
Can the gift voucher also be emailed directly to the person receiving the gift?
Yes – you have the option of also emailing the gift voucher directly to the recipient. Simply enter the recipient’s email address when you are creating the personalized gift voucher, and the certificate will be emailed directly to them. All gift certificates are also emailed to the sender’s email address.
Can I delay sending the gift certificate until a specific date?
Yes – you have the option of delaying the delivery of the gift certificate email to the recipient. Great for sending gift certificates on a specific date – eg. Birthday, Christmas Day, Father’s Day etc.
When personalizing your gift card, simply enter the date you would like the gift certificate to be mailed to the recipient and the certificate will be emailed at 4 AM EST on that date.
If no date is selected the gift will be emailed to the recipient within 30 minutes of the order being placed. Please note only the recipient’s email will be delayed until this date. The sender will still receive a copy of the gift certificate within 30 minutes of placing the order.
Is there a limit to the number of gift certificates I can purchase?
You can personalize and order 1 gift certificate at a time. There is no limit on the total number of gift certificates you can purchase.
Does the gift certificate include everything needed to obtain a Canadian boating license?
Yes – the gift certificate includes everything required to obtain a Canadian boating license, also known as a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC). The gift voucher includes the online boating license course, Transport Canada exam, temporary boating license (PCOC), and a permanent Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC). The PCOC will be issued once the Transport Canada exam has been successfully completed.
Are there any renewal fees that the person receiving the gift certificate would have to pay in the future?
There are no additional fees or charges on top of the boating license gift voucher fee of $39. It’s a one-time fee. The Canadian boating license never expires. It’s good for life.
I am not sure who I want to give the gift certificate to, can I leave the name blank?
Yes – you can leave the recipient’s name, email address, and message blank. These fields are all optional. The only field that is required is the sender’s email address.
Are the gift vouchers transferable?
Yes – the gift certificates are fully transferable. If the person who receives the certificate does not want it – they can gift it to a friend.
How long are the gift certificates valid for?
The boating license gift certificates are valid for 2 years, from the date of purchase.
Is there a minimum age requirement to obtain a boating license in Canada?
There is no minimum age requirement to obtain your boating license (PCOC) in Canada. As long as the person understands the course and successfully completes the online Transport Canada exam, they will be issued with a Canadian boating license (PCOC).
Who is required to have a boating license in Canada?
Anybody who operates a motorized boat or jet ski, in Canada must have proof of competency, regardless of your age, engine horsepower, or length of boat. The most common proof of competency in Canada is a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC). Proof of competency is proof of a boating education.
