About The Course
Here is what you need to know about this online boating license (PCOC) course:
- The course contains 5 chapters
- The course takes a minimum of three hours to complete.
- Each chapter is followed by a quiz, which requires a grade of 80% to pass.
- Once you have completed the course you need to take the Online Transport Canada PCOC Test to obtain your PCOC.
- Study at your own pace – You can take up to one year to complete the course.
Here is what you need to know about the Online Transport Canada PCOC test:
- 50 multiple-choice questions open book test
- 75 % pass mark (38/50)
- Test time is 1 hour 15 minutes (75mins)
- You must take the online PCOC Test within 30 days of completing this online Boating Safety Course or you will have to repeat the course, including all chapter quizzes, at no extra cost.
- If you fail your first test attempt, you must wait 24hrs before trying again.
- If you fail the test a second time, you must repeat the online course, including all chapter quizzes, at no extra cost.
- Test scores are provided automatically.
- Once you have passed your test you can print a temporary card (PCOC) at home and go boating straight away.
- Your temporary PCOC is valid for 60 days and a paper copy must be kept onboard while you wait for your permanent PCOC to arrive.
- Your permanent PCOC will be mailed to you within 48 hours.
- You must carry your PCOC onboard while boating.
- A paper or electronic copy of your permanent PCOC is not acceptable.
- On water law enforcement officials can ask pleasure craft operators to show their PCOC and corresponding identification at any time.
- Your PCOC never expires and is good for life!
