Who needs a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) in Canada?
Anybody who operates a motorized boat in Canada must have a proof of competency, regardless of your age, engine horsepower or length of boat. The most common proof of competency in Canada is a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (boating license). Proof of competency is basically a proof of boating education.

Do all boat operators need a boating license in Canada?
Anybody who operates a motorboat in Canada must have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (Boating License) or other proof of competency, regardless of engine horsepower or age of the operator.
How do I obtain a boating license?
