What are the Jet Ski License requirements?

In Canada, there is no minimum age to obtain your Pleasure Craft Operator Card but you do need to be 16 years of age to operate a PWC
You do not need to be a resident of Canada to take the MyBoatCard.com® free boating safety course or to obtain a jet ski license.
All PWC operators must carry their jet ski license with them at all times when operating a sea-doo in Canada. Failure to have your Pleasure Craft Operator Card with you when jet skiing could result in a fine of $250.
What is a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC)?
The PCOC is proof of competency. It proves that you have been educated in how to safely operate a boat or PWC in Canada. You can obtain a PCOC by completing the free MyBoatCard.com® online jet ski safety course and passing the final Transport Canada exam.
Who needs a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC)?
Anybody who operates a motorized boat or PWC in Canada must have a proof of competency regardless of your age, engine horsepower or length of the pleasure craft. The most common proof of competency in Canada is a Pleasure Craft Operator Card. Proof of competency is basically a proof of jet ski education.

Non-residents of Canada must also show proof of competency if they operate a PWC that is registered in Canada or operate a motorized craft on Canadian waters for more than 44 consecutive days.
